OSU softball loses 2-1 to Arizona State in Big 12 Softball Championship quarterfinals

OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA. — It was a masterclass of missed opportunities in the batter’s box Thursday, as Oklahoma State softball looked to redeem itself ahead of the NCAA Tournament.

Ruby Meylan pitched a gem at Devon Park in Oklahoma City, but two costly pitches to Samantha Swan totaling three hits offensively doomed the Cowgirls in a 2-1 loss to Arizona State in the Big 12 Softball Championship quarterfinals.

Swan hit the game’s only home run in the fourth inning and led off the sixth with a double, finishing 2 for 3 with two runs scored.

“I had two pitches, I would say, that I did not execute to the same kid,” Meylan said.
