OSU sweeps doubleheader at Clearwater Invitational

The St. Pete/Clearwater Elite Invitational is a softball gauntlet, but Oklahoma State made it through Day 1 unscathed Thursday in Florida.

The Cowgirls routed Virginia Tech 14-6 in the morning and held off South Florida 5-1 in the afternoon.

In the opener, OSU got home runs from Kiley Naomi, Alysen Febrey and Hayley Busby. Virginia Tech transfer Carrie Eberle earned her first save as a Cowgirl, allowing one run in two innings.

In Game 2, Michaela Richbourg hit an RBI triple in a three-run first inning and Karli Petty had a two-run single in the third to give OSU all the offense it needed.
