OSU men's basketball: Gottlieb sees only positives with OSU

STILLWATER — Doug Gottlieb stands with Mike Holder.

On the topic of money.

On any narrative of rumored difficult relationships with the Oklahoma State athletic director.

Gottlieb has heard it. And he's unbothered.

That was his stance heading into a Thursday formal interview with Holder, the face-to-face opportunity Gottlieb so openly and publicly sought in pitching himself as the next Cowboys basketball coach.

The former OSU standout player was one of five men scheduled for interviews Thursday, along with former assistant James Dickey and current assistants Danny Henderson, Mike Boynton and Lamont Evans.

Gottlieb, because of his popularity among a certain faction of the fan base, was the headliner of Day 1 interviews, signaling an acceleration of the coaching search since Brad Underwood's departure for Illinois on Saturday — a departure linked to salary and discord with Holder.
