STILLWATER — Even with a maximum of four games left and thus backup quarterbacks Dru Brown and Spencer Sanders guaranteed to redshirt, Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy said it's unlikely either will play.
Gundy's reasoning, which he provided Monday during his weekly radio show, is that inserting Brown or Sanders into a game, even for a couple of series, would require a change in how the Cowboys allocate practice reps.
“It's just not as productive, meaning that you have to share reps during the week,” Gundy said. “That's the one thing I think the public doesn't understand is, we only get so many reps to get guys ready to play, and there are a few new things that go in every week.
