STILLWATER — Jarrick Bernard quietly walked between the various groups of interview scrums as his Oklahoma State teammates and coaches talked to the media following the first day of spring football practice earlier this month.
He stopped and waited his turn.
Throughout his first two seasons, that was the norm for Bernard, slipping under the media radar while other Cowboy defensive backs gained more attention.
But spring ball was going to be different.
And it was going to be important, until the coronavirus pandemic likely wiped out any chance of spring practices beyond the three the Cowboys held prior to March 13.
