STILLWATER — Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy celebrated college football's first early signing period for high school players like it was a new holiday.
“The early signing period is the best thing that's ever happened to college football,” Gundy said. “It's going to create and improve the equality and parity in the game. We're seeing more and more of it, as I have mentioned for three or four years now.
“The early signing period is going to balance out college football — Power Five conference schools — over a period of three or four years.”
That statement came not long after Gundy received the last of 22 letters of intent Wednesday morning, putting together what looks like it will be one of the best recruiting classes of his tenure.
