STILLWATER — Oklahoma State enters spring practice without its pair of starting defensive tackles from a year ago as Motekiai Maile fulfilled his eligibility and Vincent Taylor declared for the NFL Draft.
In an attempt to build depth, the Cowboys have flipped one defensive end to play inside: redshirt junior Trey Carter.
Listed at 6-foot-3, 295 pounds, the Dallas native played in 11 games last season, saving his best performance for last with a sack and 1.5 tackles for loss in the Alamo Bowl victory against Colorado. OSU coach Mike Gundy said back in February that the transition from end to tackle is "really difficult," adding "it's a whole different world down there.
