STILLWATER — Even in the down moments, Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy was comfortable with Spencer Sanders.
Sanders shook off a first-half interception he underthrew. That happens. He even handled the decisive fumble that put Baylor well ahead in a 45-27 win Saturday.
But Gundy still wants Sanders to relax even more. Sanders is perhaps trying to do too much.
“Spencer is a very prideful young man,” Gundy said in a passionate response during Monday’s weekly media luncheon. “And the only issue he has to work on is thinking he can play a perfect game.
