OSU football: Spencer Sanders expected to start at quarterback, per report

CORVALLIS, Oregon — With just less than two hours remaining before kickoff, news appeared to break on Oklahoma State’s quarterback competition.

Redshirt freshman Spencer Sanders is expected to start for the Cowboys Friday night against Oregon State at Reser Stadium, according to a report from Brett McMurphy of Stadium.

Sanders and fifth-year senior Dru Brown have been competing for the job since spring practice, with little separation, based on coaches’ discussions with media.

It is still likely that Oklahoma State plays both quarterbacks Friday night, sources told The Oklahoman.
