OSU football: Mike Gundy’s helicopter makes return with signing day near

STILLWATER — Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy has spent plenty of time airborne that past two recruiting cycles, riding a helicopter around the region to visit various prospects. All that time riding shotgun seems to be paying off.

“I can take the control and drive it around a little bit, so I’m watching and learning on the job,” Gundy said Friday. “Definitely the way to recruit, that’s for sure."

Gundy has made good use of that time ahead of Wednesday’s start of the early signing period, visiting recruits committed and uncommitted alike. He made some in-state stops, visiting a couple of commits in Edmond Santa Fe defensive lineman Trace Ford and Collinsville tight end Grayson Boomer.
