OSU football: Lamont Bishop was a late addition, but he's ready to contribute early

“The first couple weeks were challenging, but after that, I’ve been good,” Bishop said of his recovery. “I’m on the right route. I’m cleared as soon as I get down there. I’ll be there in May or June.”

Several programs, including Nebraska, Mississippi State, Kentucky, Kansas State and Boise State, were recruiting Bishop prior to his injury, but the Cowboys were one of the few to stick with him after the injury.

That, in part, is a product of coach Mike Gundy’s view about improvements in medical treatment for such injuries.

“(Doctors) are so good at repairing ACLs now, that’s a non-factor,” Gundy said.
