Cowboys defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah is getting some national attention after all.
Snubbed by the Lombardi Award committee, Ogbah was named Thursday one of nine semifinalists for the Lott IMPACT Trophy, recognizing college football's Defensive Player of the Year who best exemplifies the IMPACT acronym: Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity.
Ogbah leads the Big 12 and ranks fifth nationally averaging 1.0 sack a game. He also leads the league with 13 1/2 tackles for loss and has been named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week three times in nine games. His 24 career sacks rank second among all active players.
