Forty-five seconds was all Oklahoma State needed to flex its defensive muscles.
Defensive back A.J. Green jumped a pass from McNeese State quarterback Cody Orgeron and raced 27 yards to the end zone two plays into Saturday night’s 56-14 OSU victory at Boone Pickens Stadium.
A year after forcing just 13 total turnovers, the OSU defense forced two against the FCS program. It was a big boost for a defense that struggled at times a week ago at Oregon State, failing to stop the Beavers on third down or force a turnover.
Green’s big play led to others.
