OSU football journal: Cowboys looking for more quarterback pressure

STILLWATER - Through six games, Oklahoma State has yet to pile up sacks like it did last year. But that’s all about finding balance.

With a three-man front in the Cowboys’ base formation, there are risks with pressure. Quarterbacks have more gaps to run through.

OSU is still working through that coverage entering Saturday’s game against No. 18-ranked Baylor, which kicks off at 3 p.m. on Fox.

That will be a focus this week against a Baylor offense that has allowed just nine total sacks.

“You watch quarterbacks in this league and how many times have guys stepped up in the pocket and run for 6, 8 or 10 yards on first down or even third down,” OSU coach Mike Gundy said.
