STILLWATER — When Oklahoma State opened spring practice Monday inside the Sherman E. Smith Training Center, the reigning Big 12 Newcomer of the Year Justice Hill looked on from a stationary bike on the sideline.
The Cowboys' star sophomore tailback will sit out until he's fully rehabbed from shoulder surgery, leaving the door open for the program to establish a backup following the graduation of Chris Carson and Barry J. Sanders from last fall.
The leading candidate in spring would appear to be junior Jeff Carr. As a true freshman in 2015, Carr appeared in all 13 games with 36 carries for 142 yards and one touchdown.
