An Oklahoma State victory over Texas Tech wouldn’t be considered a rarity given the series’ recent history, but the Cowboys winning Saturday’s matchup would establish a decade of dominance the program hasn’t seen in almost 60 years.
OSU has won nine straight games against the Red Raiders, so a victory Saturday would give the Cowboys their third double-digit winning streak against a given opponent. OSU beat Kansas State 11 straight times from 1947-62, and the program’s only other 10-game winning streak over one opponent came from 1908-1922 against Central Oklahoma.
Should the Cowboys fail to win and extend their streak against Texas Tech, they could have a shot at 10-game winning streak as soon as next season.
