OSU football: Cowboys' receiver depth might create unique substitution patterns

STILLWATER — Mason Rudolph and James Washington made individual decisions to return to Oklahoma State. They received their draft grades. Talked to family. Listened to assistant coaches.

But they sat together inside a San Antonio hotel ballroom last week at a news conference — and unlike OSU defensive tackle Vincent Taylor, OU tailback Samaje Perine or Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes — the Cowboy quarterback and receiver announced they will not declare for the 2017 NFL Draft. The explained why.

“It's not only us two,” Rudolph said.

“We have a bunch of weapons that will be back next year,” Washington added.
