STILLWATER — Less than a week before the state’s biggest football game, Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy was nearing an all-nighter in his office when he stopped at 2:30 a.m. for some math.
He was seeking out an answer for a question he would undoubtedly receive Monday from the media.

“Let me give you some numbers here,” Gundy said before rattling off 137, 143, 125, 171, 153, 105 and 140. He paused for the final number — 180.
The first seven numbers were the average carries per season of several former OU quarterbacks.
