OSU football: Chuba Hubbard says he's leaving social media, calls it 'a playground for hate'

After using Twitter to affect change in the Oklahoma State football program, running back Chuba Hubbard is stepping away from social media.

Bothered by his social media accounts becoming "a playground for hate," Hubbard reactivated his Twitter account, @Hubbard_RMN, Tuesday when he wrote a message that said he will not be using social media "until further notice."

Hubbard, the Cowboys' star running back, had deleted his Twitter account Monday, hours after posting three consecutive tweets that criticized and called for the resignation of Oklahoma County district attorney David Prater.

Protesters marched outside Prater's office on Monday, upset with Prater both for filing terrorism charges against some demonstrators and for clearing the Edmond police officers involved in the fatal shooting of a naked Black teenager, Isaiah Lewis, last year.
