OSU defeats Oklahoma in men's golf championships, headed to NCAA Semifinals

No. 4 Oklahoma State took down No. 5 Oklahoma University in the quarterfinal round of match play at the NCAA’s Men’s Golf National Championships.

The tournament is taking place at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa North Course, the course is a 7,480 par 72 course.

After finishing stroke play with a 1-stroke lead over Oklahoma, the Cowboys were set to face their in-state rivals in the first round.

OSU beat OU 3.5-1.5 in match play off of demanding wins from Filip Fahlberg-Johnsson, Ethan Fang and Preston Stout.

Fahlberg-Johnsson, Fang and Stout were all able to get leads within the first four holes of their matches and none of them relinquished their leads for the rest of the day.
