Ralph Bobik always thought of Eddie and Patsy Sutton as the refined Southern gentleman and the perfect Southern belle. No matter that they were from Bucklin, Kansas, and Stillwater, Oklahoma, respectively. Not exactly Vicksburg and Mobile.
In the early 1970s, Bobik played basketball for Creighton University, coached by a young Eddie Sutton. Bobik played well. He was a 6-foot-7 point guard who for his career averaged 10.5 points and 6.7 assists.
Patsy Sutton “had a little drawal,” Bobik said. “They were always formal. He acted with maturity and dignity and respect.
