STILLWATER — It’s officially official. Eddie Sutton will finally officially have Hall of Famer attached to his name.
Sutton — Oklahoma State’s former legendary coach — was elected into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on Saturday, joining a star-studded cast that includes late NBA legend Kobe Bryant.
The remainder of the class includes Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, Tamika Catchings, Kim Mulkey, Barbara Stevens, Patrick Baumann and Rudy Tomjanovich. They will be inducted on Saturday, Aug. 29, in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Sutton, 84, amassed 806 victories over 37 seasons while becoming the first coach to lead four programs to the NCAA Tournament.
