STILLWATER — Oklahoma State’s men’s basketball coaching staff took a hit Friday.
John Cooper was named an assistant coach at SMU, the Mustangs announced.
"I am really excited to join the SMU family," Cooper said in a release. "I am looking forward to contributing to the achievements of this program, and helping the staff and student-athletes continue to be successful."
Cooper spent last season as the special assistant to head coach Mike Boynton. Cooper was an assistant coach the previous two seasons.
A former Wichita State standout, Cooper was the head coach at Miami (Ohio) for five years before joining OSU.
