OSU basketball: Behind Yor Anei's eight blocks, Cowboys down West Virginia to win Big 12’s ninth-place game

STILLWATER — Yor Anei couldn’t stop smiling at the stat sheet.

Oklahoma State’s 6-foot-10 freshman center kept looking down at the piece of paper on the table in front of him. Beyond the numbers showing that the Cowboys earned an 85-77 victory over West Virginia, the figure “8” stood out to him the most.

In Saturday’s victory at Gallagher-Iba Arena, Anei became the third Cowboy with eight blocks in a game, a feat last achieved by Andre Williams in 2002. West Virginia coach Bob Huggins credited Anei’s length and timing for his blocking prowess. Anei offered another reason.
