STILLWATER — Sporting a big, but well-groomed beard, Jake Standlee appears ready for any tough task.
That includes taking the mound as a starting pitcher or relief pitcher for Oklahoma State.
“I’m just making sure I’m ready for anything, honestly,” Standlee said. “It’s making sure my arm’s in shape. It doesn’t matter if I’m coming out of the pen or if I’m starting, it’s just whatever I can do from my part to help the team.”
Last season, Standlee emerged as a reliable pitcher for the Cowboys during their run to the NCAA Super Regional. He appeared in 19 games, starting 12.
