OSU adds Chastain, follows teammate

The starting backcourt for UT Arlington is now in Stillwater.

On Thursday, Claire Chastain, a 6-foot guard graduate transfer from UTA committed to play for Oklahoma State women’s basketball next season.

Chastain played in 91 games in her four-year career with the Lady Mavericks and averaged 9.6 points per game. She also shot 78% from the free-throw line and grabbed 3.7 rebounds per game.

Chastain started two seasons for the Mavericks in 2019-20 and 2021-22, but opted-out of the 2020-21 season three games in because of COVID-19 concerns.

Chastain brings depth to the guard position and gives coach Jacie Hoyt another veteran to anchor the team.
