Oklahoma State’s Nick Piccininni pins Iowa’s Spencer Lee

Oklahoma State’s No. 4-ranked Nick Piccininni picked up his first career win against No. 2 Spencer Lee of Iowa with a second-period fall at 125 pounds Sunday at Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater.

Piccininni, who improved to 26-0, escaped with 38 seconds left in the second then was able to take the reigning NCAA champion down to his back for the fall to give the Cowboys a 6-0 lead.

Piccininni went 0-2 against Lee last season, including losing by fall at the NCAA tournament.

With the win, Piccininni remains undefeated this season and hands Lee his second loss.
