Oklahoma State wrestling: Daton Fix given 1-year suspension by USADA for failed anti-doping test

Daton Fix was suspended one year by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) on Tuesday for testing positive for ostarine this past January.

The 2019 World team member and Pan American Games gold medalist tested positive for the prohibited substance Jan. 22 as a result of an out-of-competition drug test. The suspension will end Feb. 10, 2021, meaning the Oklahoma State wrestler will be eligible to compete for the 57 kilograms spot on the United States’ 2021 Olympic men’s freestyle team at the Olympic Trials.

According to a USADA release, a three-member panel of the American Arbitration Association (AAA) concluded Fix digested ostarine by “drinking from a water bottle, which contained a supplement mixture as well as ostarine that his father, Derek Fix, had prepared for himself but left in the family’s refrigerator.
