Oklahoma State middle distance runner Kaela Edwards looks to lead the Cowgirls to a conference title in the Big 12 championships starting Friday.
The OSU track and field team is competing at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships in Fort Worth, Texas starting Friday.
The Cowboys finished sixth and the Cowgirls finished seventh at last year’s Outdoor Championships.
This year, coach Dave Smith expects a higher finish for both teams.
“The women’s team is looking at a pretty heated battle for second, third or fourth in the conference,” Smith said. “On the men’s side, we’re locked into the third to fifth range, but we’d love to move up and exceed expectations and move into the top two.
