Oklahoma State in MLB: Nationals reliever Koda Glover retires due to injuries

Former Oklahoma State right-handed pitcher Koda Glover announced his retirement from baseball at age 26 on Monday on Twitter.

The Heavener, Oklahoma native made his MLB debut in 2016 and showcased all the traits associated for a promising closer with size (6-foot-5), a high-90s fastball and calm yet stern demeanor on the mound. After the season he revealed he had a torn labrum in his hip then pitched through rotator cuff issues the following season.

Glover made 21 appearances and was 1-3 with a save and a 3.31 ERA in 2018 before a forearm strain kept him on the injured list this past season.
