Oklahoma State football notebook: Offensive lineman Michael Wilson reflects on sudden rise to starting role last season

STILLWATER — Michael Wilson entered his sophomore year at Oklahoma State last season with the goal to become an everyday starter on the offensive line.

“I told (former position coach Bob Connelly) that I would play anywhere,” Wilson said. “I just wanted to get on the field.”

Wilson — a 6-foot-6 and 305-pound Aledo, Texas, native — would stay true to those words. When right tackle Zach Crabtree was injured against Iowa State in Week 5, Wilson became his replacement. He then went on to start at every position on the offensive line, except for center, over the Cowboys’ next eight games.
