Oklahoma State football: Might John Kolar be the next dual-threat backup Cowboy quarterback?

STILLWATER — Senior J.W. Walsh accounted for 26 total touchdowns in his final season as part of Oklahoma State's ever efficient two-quarterback system.

Might redshirt freshman John Kolar fill those shoes in 2016?

“He’s going to play more like the J.W. style,” coach Mike Gundy said Thursday.

Kolar — 6-foot-4 and 190 pounds — reported a 4.55 40-yard dash time as a senior at Norman North High School to go along with 1,675 yards passing with 15 touchdowns.

“I do consider myself a dual threat, but I prefer to pass it as my first option,” Kolar told The Oklahoman in July 2014.
