Cade Cunningham’s renewed commitment Monday to OSU basketball in the wake of NCAA probation was just the kind of news the Cowboys needed. But if the NCAA’s one-year ban on 2021 postseason play is upheld, Cunningham not only would miss the NCAA Tournament, he would miss the Big 12 Tournament.
Big 12 spokesman Bob Burda said Monday that if the Cowboys are ineligible for the NCAA Tournament, “they would be ineligible” for the conference tournament in Kansas City.
In 2004, Baylor basketball was on probation and ineligible for the NCAA Tournament. The Bears did not play in the Big 12 Tournament.
