Oklahoma State men’s basketball coach Mike Boynton has one less assistant on his staff after John Cooper was named an assistant at SMU on Friday.
“I am really excited to join the SMU family,” Cooper said in a release. “I am looking forward to contributing to the achievements of this program, and helping the staff and student-athletes continue to be successful.”
Cooper spent this past season as the special assistant to Boynton after being an assistant coach the previous two campaigns. Prior to coming to Stillwater, he was the head coach at Miami (Ohio) for five years and three years at Tennessee State.
