October court date set for Oklahoma State lawsuit against former offensive line coach Joe Wickline

STILLWATER — Oklahoma State's lawsuit against its former offensive line coach Joe Wickline for breach of contract is one step closer to trial, as a pre-trial conference has been scheduled for 9 a.m. on Oct. 23 in Payne Count District Court, according to online court records.

Wickline, hired by Texas in 2014 after nine seasons as a Cowboy assistant, contends he received a promotion with play-calling duties for the Longhorns and did not violate the terms of his contract. OSU Athletic Director Mike Holder argued in a March letter to Wickline that Texas assistant coach Shawn Watson was the Longhorns' true offensive coordinator who called plays, and therefore, Wickline owes OSU the remainder of his previous contract through 2016 ($593,478).
