Notebook: Cowgirl defenders hold Lamar scoreless

After Anna Lawler suffered a season-ending injury, Oklahoma State women’s soccer coach Colin Carmichael had to change his defense for the match against Lamar.

The new lineup worked.

OSU’s defense held back Lamar in a 4-0 victory Friday at Neal Patterson Stadium.

To start the match, Carmichael put his trust in the defense, forming his lineup with only three players in the back.

Kim Rodriguez, Hannah Webb and Elise Hawn started the match and didn’t let a shot hit the back of the net in the first half.

With the help of the defense, the Cowgirls ended with almost triple the shots Lamar had.
