Mike Boynton’s 2020 Oklahoma State team is a far cry from Eddie Sutton’s 1995 Oklahoma State team. And yet, Boynton said this week that he badly wants OSU in this century to resemble the OSU from that one.
“It’s really important in and of itself that our current players realize where the bar is for our program,” said Boynton. “I know that probably sounds absurd. We haven’t had a lot of postseason success recently, but that team with Coach Sutton really let people know Oklahoma State can be a national contender.
“I want these young guys who will be around here for a few years to understand where we’re trying to take this thing back to,” added Boynton.
