Oklahoma State baseball coach Josh Holliday said junior Jake Lyons has been a solid pitcher since the start of the season.
Lyons, a junior transfer from Weatherford Junior College, has stepped up as part of the Cowboys’ relief pitching.
Against Kansas State, Lyons came into the game after OSU’s pitching struggled.
Lyons proceeded to pitch five scoreless innings in the Cowboys' 8-4 victory against KSU on Sunday at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium.
Redshirt freshman Brett Standlee had a rough start as the Wildcats (11-13, 0-3 Big 12) scored four runs in the first two innings.
