'Looking back, I was so dumb': How OSU's Kaden Polcovich remade himself into an MLB Draft prospect

EDMOND — As tears formed, Kaden Polcovich stopped running to take a breath.

Holding his phone, he looked at the text message from Oklahoma State baseball coach Josh Holliday. Polcovich was just named an All-American by Collegiate Baseball.

In the middle of his daily workout 15 days ago, Polcovich broke down as he reflected on his journey.

One goal this spring was accomplished. The next, that could happen Thursday night.

Polcovich is in line to likely be the Cowboys’ lone selection on this week’s five-round MLB Draft. After playing just 18 games with OSU, the switch-hitting infielder and son of former Pittsburgh Pirates infielder Kevin Polcovich is ready to take the next step.
