Slinging the pigskin down the field runs in the Gundy family and Mike’s son Gunnar, a sophomore at Stillwater High, perhaps has the best athletic genes of the the whole bunch.
As the Pioneers’ starting QB last season, Gunnar amassed 1,325 passing yards and 12 touchdowns to only one interception in 10 games according to MaxPreps stats, putting on a display of athletic talent that may be fit to thrive at the next level after high school.
Gunnar is a smidge over 6-foot and weighs 170 pounds. Although he’s not a can’t-miss, gotta-have-him Division I talent — at least for right now — he’s an intriguing prospect to watch for several reasons.
