Following underwhelming season openers in 2020 and 2021, the OSU offense looked to kick off this season with a bang.
With senior quarterback Spencer Sanders leading the way, the Cowboys did just that.
Leading 9-7 late in the first quarter, Sanders dodged a couple of defenders on a draw play to cap off a 17-yard touchdown run.
On the next possession, Sanders led the Cowboys into the red zone before hitting wide receiver Braydon Johnson in the back of the end zone to take a 23-7 lead.
Later in the half, Sanders evaded Chippewa defenders in the backfield en route to his second rushing touchdown to put the Cowboys up by 30.
