Former Oklahoma State tennis player Julian Cash and partner Lloyd Glasspool defeated Rinky Hijikata and David Pel in straight sets to claim the Wimbledon Gentlemen's Doubles Championship on Saturday.
Cash played three seasons for the Cowboys from 2015-18, earning All-America honors in doubles. Cash reached No. 1 in the doubles rankings during the 2016 season and was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Year.
After Cash and Glasspool controlled the first set with a 6-2 score, Hijikata and Pel made the second set more competitive, which settled to a tiebreaker. Cash and Glasspool finished the second set with a 7-6 (3) victory to claim their first Grand Slam title.
