AMES, Iowa — Big plays by the offense and the defense carried Oklahoma State to a 34-27 victory over No. 23 Iowa State, as the Cowboy roller-coaster started back upward.

Here’s a look at five takeaways from OSU’s much-needed victory:

1. Picking Purdy

Oklahoma State had been struggling for takeaways this season, but came away with three interceptions in the final seven minutes of the game.

Linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez returned his 26 yards for the decisive score.

While trying to rally, Iowa State quarterback Brock Purdy was intercepted two more times, but OSU linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga and safety Tre Sterling.
