This Tony Allen tale caught my eye at the end of last week, but it got a little buried by, uh, other stuff that was going on. Anyway, I wanted to post it because I think it epitomized what both TA and Eddie Sutton were about.
The date was March 19, 2004. OSU was playing Eastern Washington in the first round, and Eddie was displeased — probably because OSU was a No. 2 seed and tied 36-36 at the half (Pokes eventually won 75-56).
Sutton, 68, isn’t so set in his ways that he can’t surprise everyone now and then.
