Two Cowboys wrestled for NCAA titles on Saturday night. Here’s a quick recap.
ESPN opened the finals at 285 with Derek White and Anthony Cassar. Both wrestlers seemed to wrestle pretty tight in the first period. There were very few true attacks and no scores for either wrestler. In the second White took bottom and got a quick escape. Late in the period Cassar went for a shot, took White down, and put him on his back for six. White needed to go big to get back in it and was unable to. White fell 10-1.
This was the big move that ultimately decided the match.
