Logan Heausler scored a goal in the second minute to give the Cowgirls an early lead, then the defense took over from there.
The Cowgirls used a strong defensive performance to pick up a 1-0 win against Kansas on Thursday night at Neal Patterson Stadium, improving to 9-2 overall and 2-0 in Big 12 play.
The early goal gave the squad confidence, head coach Colin Carmichael said.
“When you have those 20 to 25 minutes where you are the better team, you’ve got to capitalize and put the ball in the net, and we did,” Carmichael said.
