Cowgirls complete sweep of Kansas

The Cowgirls showed up in all black for the Jayhawks’ funeral.

The Oklahoma State softball team defeated Kansas 7-1 on Saturday in Cowgirl Stadium to complete their second consecutive sweep of a Big 12 foe.

OSU (25-11 overall, 6-0 Big 12) took its commanding lead in the bottom of the third inning, scoring four runs and batting around.

Taylor Lynch initiated the scoring effort with a bunt to Jessie Roane. The Jayhawks’ third baseman threw to first baseman Becki Monaghan who couldn’t corral the throw. Maddi Holcomb scored, Rylee Bayless advanced to third and Lynch moved to second base thanks to the lone error of Saturday’s matchup.
