Communication is a critical part of any successful team.
For the Oklahoma State women’s tennis team, it does not always come easy. Five of the 10 Cowgirls are international and have all seen time on the court.
“Normally, the biggest challenge (is that) I am international myself,” assistant coach Jaime Sanchez-Canamares said. “You normally understand everything that they are telling you. You have the issue when you want to express back what you think.”
The Cowgirls coaching staff has a direct approach to the language barrier: teaching on the court.
