The OSU equestrian team is headed south for a meet with No. 6 SMU on Saturday.
Sanchez, the team’s coach, watched the Cowgirls debut at No. 6 in the National Collegiate Equestrian Association preseason poll before tumbling to No. 9 in Wednesday’s rankings, despite winning the only meet they have competed in. The Cowgirls defeated then ninth-ranked Delaware State 11-8 on Sep. 25 before falling to No. 7 the following week.
Although the national poll seems to indicate OSU (1-0) is trending in the wrong direction, Sanchez said the team isn’t concerned about what the polls have to say.
