The three pieces of gum jammed in the right side of Carson Teel’s mouth might’ve been the only part of his night he could complain about.
By the end of the Oklahoma State baseball team’s 7-3 victory against Missouri State on Tuesday, the two pieces of blue raspberry and one piece of strawberry had long lost their flavor, but Teel chomped away like he had since the game’s first pitch, reveling in his greatest night of personal achievement as a Cowboy.
Teel, a redshirt sophomore left-hander from Stillwater, entered in the third inning and finished the game, pitching a career-high seven innings, allowing three hits and one run.
